Interior Designer Procurement Specialist Rate - 2.9 Chicago, IL Job Details Part-time 10 hours ago Qualifications Pricing Revit Schedule management Attention to detail Project management software Full Job Description Rate is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented part-time Interior Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing and procurement coordination for furniture, fixtures, equipment, finishes, lighting, artwork, accessories, and other interior project materials. This role will support the end-to-end procurement process including sourcing, vendor coordination, purchase orders, logistics, delivery tracking, and documentation while partnering with design, facilities, project-management, and Executive teams. The ideal candidate can manage multiple priorities independently, communicate proactively, and keep projects moving within budget and on schedule. Responsibilities Manage procurement activities for interior projects, from sourcing and bid collection through purchase, delivery, installation, and closeout. Source and purchase FF&E, finishes, lighting, materials, artwork, accessories, and custom elements based on project specifications, budgets, and timelines. Request, evaluate, and compare vendor bids, quotes, lead times, warranties, and product options. Create and manage purchase orders, product submittals, invoices, payment tracking, procurement logs, and project documentation. Negotiate pricing, freight terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and installation requirements with vendors, manufacturers, and installers. Track production, shipping, receiving, backorders, damages, and delivery schedules; resolve issues that could affect project schedules or budgets. Monitor procurement budgets, committed costs, freight, taxes, and change orders; identify cost-saving opportunities and provide project updates. Maintain organized vendor, purchasing, and project records. Identify procurement risks and recommend substitutions, alternate vendors, or other solutions to protect scope, schedule, quality, and budget. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure purchases meet approved specifications and quality standards. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, FF&E procurement, interior design procurement, facilities purchasing, construction purchasing, or a related field. Experience managing purchase orders, vendor quotes, invoices, freight, delivery schedules, and procurement documentation. Knowledge of furniture, finishes, lighting, materials, furniture specifications, and installation processes. Strong vendor-management, negotiation, budget-tracking, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage several projects, vendors, and deadlines in a part-time capacity. Ability to interpret furniture plans, finish schedules, drawings, product specifications, and vendor submittals. Proficiency in Excel and project-management or procurement-tracking tools. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design software is a plus, but not required.
