Job Description
Intermediate Interior Designer / Project Manager Remote | Contract / Hourly | $40-$50/hour | Potential for Full-Time b. blanton design is seeking an experienced Intermediate Interior Designer / Project Manager to join our team on a remote, hourly contract basis, with the potential to grow into a full-time position. Must be in the Nashville vicinity. We are looking for a well-rounded designer with 4+ years of professional interior design experience who can confidently manage projects, produce detailed design documentation, communicate with clients and project partners, and help carry a project from concept through implementation. This is not solely a drafting or design-assistant role. The ideal candidate understands both the creative and technical sides of interior design and can take ownership of their work while collaborating closely with our team. Responsibilities Manage interior design projects, timelines, priorities, and deliverables Develop design concepts, furniture plans, material palettes, and finish selections Produce detailed drawings and documentation in AutoCAD Develop 3D models and design studies in SketchUp Create floor plans, lighting/electrical plans, interior elevations, cabinetry drawings, ceiling details, and other design documentation Source and specify furniture, lighting, plumbing, hardware, finishes, fabrics, wallcoverings, and accessories Prepare finish schedules, specifications, selection documents, and presentations Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, fabricators, vendors, and workrooms Review shop drawings, samples, quotes, and vendor information for accuracy and design intent Assist with project budgeting, pricing, procurement, and implementation Anticipate project needs and identify coordination issues before they become problems Qualifications 4+ years of professional interior design experience Degree in Interior Design Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp Strong understanding of residential construction, cabinetry, millwork, lighting, finishes, and interior detailing Experience producing professional design and construction documentation Strong project management, sourcing, and specification skills Excellent written and verbal communication Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities Able to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with a small team Experience with high-end residential design, renovations, and new construction strongly preferred This position will begin as an hourly independent contractor role at $40-$50/hour, commensurate with experience . Hours may fluctuate based on project workload, with the opportunity to develop into a full-time position as our studio grows.
