This position blends high-level creative direction with hands-on execution, client leadership, and operational oversight. The ideal candidate demonstrates refined design expertise, strong project management skills, and the ability to mentor staff while delivering exceptional, luxury-level client experiences. Key Responsibilities Design Leadership & Project Execution Lead conceptual design, program development, and space planning across multiple projects. Guide the design process with a holistic approach integrating functionality, spatial performance, and aesthetic excellence. Execute QA/QC reviews to maintain design integrity through all project phases. Ensure design intent is realized through thoughtful selection of materials, finishes, FF&E, and products aligned with sustainability goals. Produce and review presentations, drawings, renderings, and visual materials that clearly communicate design vision. Conduct site visits and participate in construction administration meetings, documenting lessons learned and coordinating with project teams. Assist with site measuring, templating, floor plans, elevations, 3D models, and Matterport documentation as needed. Client Leadership & Relationship Management Serve as primary design liaison for clients alongside leadership and collaborators. Lead presentations, manage client expectations, and maintain strong long-term relationships. Provide regular progress updates, reports, schedules, and scope change documentation. Deliver a luxury-level experience throughout all phases of the design process. Manage budgets, proposals, approvals, and payment tracking. Coordinate consultations, site assessments, installations, and post-completion follow-ups. Team Leadership & Mentorship Mentor junior designers and foster a collaborative, respectful, growth-focused environment. Guide teams to produce high-quality deliverables and serve as a thought leader within the discipline. Champion innovation, design excellence, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Communicate design direction clearly with project managers and integrated design teams. Project Management & Coordination Oversee project schedules, budgets, and profitability, balancing creative priorities with financial targets. Coordinate all project phases from concept through installation. Manage documentation including specifications, meeting notes, timelines, and budgets. Track orders, shipments, installations, and procurement logistics. Work cross-functionally with procurement, logistics, sales, marketing, and operations teams. Navigate scope changes with proper documentation, communication, and approvals. Maintain organization of design systems, samples, and project records. Vendor & Consultant Coordination Serve as primary liaison with vendors, subcontractors, artisans, showrooms, and trades. Request pricing, generate purchase orders, and oversee custom furniture fabrication. Coordinate product quality control, returns, and issue resolution. Source FF&E and specialty materials, ensuring alignment with project vision and budget. Manage deliveries, pickups, and installation logistics. Business Development & Brand Support Conduct design consultations with trade partners and prospective clients. Respond to new client inquiries and manage scheduling and calendars. Support leadership with business development activities and expansion initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field. 5+ years of professional interior design experience, preferably in high-end residential or luxury commercial environments. Demonstrated experience leading projects and managing client relationships. Strong knowledge of construction documentation, materials, FF&E, and fabrication processes. Proficiency in industry software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, rendering platforms, project management tools). Excellent presentation, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Willingness to travel regionally as required.
