Job Title:
Interior Designer Job Description This Interior Designer role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while growing alongside an experienced interior design team. You will work on a variety of projects with a strong focus on healthcare environments, including large hospital facilities, and play a key role in producing high-quality design and construction documentation. The position is ideal for a designer who brings 5-7 years of experience, is proficient in Revit, and is eager to collaborate closely with and be mentored by a senior interior designer. Responsibilities + Develop interior design concepts from schematic design through construction documentation for a range of projects, with an emphasis on healthcare facilities and large hospitals. + Create, coordinate, and refine complete construction document (CD) sets, ensuring accuracy, code compliance, and alignment with project standards. + Use Revit and AutoCAD to produce detailed drawings, plans, elevations, and 3D views that clearly communicate design intent. + Support space planning efforts to optimize functionality, circulation, and user experience within healthcare and other project types. + Select, coordinate, and document FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment), including finishes, materials, and product specifications. + Prepare and update design presentations, schematic layouts, and visual materials using tools such as SketchUp and other drafting software. + Collaborate closely with a senior interior designer, working side by side to refine design solutions and incorporate feedback. + Participate in client interactions, including meetings and presentations, to understand project needs and communicate design concepts clearly and professionally. + Coordinate design information with project team members and consultants to maintain consistency and resolve design and documentation issues. + Contribute to the continuous improvement and growth of the interior design department by sharing ideas, best practices, and design insights. Essential Skills + 4+ years of professional experience in interior design. + Proficiency with Revit for design development and construction documentation. + Demonstrated experience producing complete construction document (CD) sets. + Experience interacting directly with clients in a professional setting. + Hands-on experience with FF&E selection and documentation. + Strong interior design and drafting skills, including space planning and schematic design. + Proficiency with AutoCAD for drafting and documentation. + Proficiency with SketchUp or similar tools for 3D visualization and design communication. + Bachelor's degree in Interior Design. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working on healthcare projects, including hospitals or medical facilities, is a strong plus. + Ability to collaborate effectively with senior designers and multidisciplinary project teams. + Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in drawings and documentation. + Effective communication skills for presenting ideas and engaging with clients. + Motivation to contribute to the growth and development of an interior design department. Work Environment This role is primarily office-based, with an expectation to work on site in the office for at least the first six months to support close collaboration and mentorship. The work environment emphasizes teamwork, learning, and professional growth, with the opportunity to work side by side with an experienced interior designer on healthcare-focused projects, including large hospitals in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The team uses Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other drafting and design tools as part of the daily workflow. After the initial period, there is flexibility where needed to support a balanced and productive work arrangement. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Providence, RI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
