Tera Janelle Design is a full-service residential interior design firm, specializing in custom renovations and ground-up new construction projects, guiding clients through every detail of the design, build, and furnishing process. We are based in Lynchburg, Virginia and work with clients throughout Virginia and beyond. The role is ideal for an experienced designer who is a detail-oriented self starter, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is eager to grow with an established team! Our team is growing! We are adding another interior designer to our team. We are seeking an Interior Designer who has 5+ years of work experience in residential interior design. A designer with a passion for residential design and a strong technical foundation, with a particularly exceptional eye for furnishings and the thoughtful, personal styling that creates a truly personal home.

JOB ROLE
Develop detailed construction drawings, including floor plans, interior elevations, reflected ceiling plans, custom cabinetry, and millwork details. Collaborate with the Principal Designer to develop and refine design concepts from schematic design through construction documentation. Lead the design and specification of furnishings, textiles, window treatments, rugs, artwork, and accessories Create accurate 3D models and renderings to communicate design intent. Produce highly organized project specifications and finish schedules. Review, coordinate, and annotate architectural, construction, and shop drawings. Work closely with contractors, consultants, and trades to ensure accurate implementation of design plans. Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, contractors, and the design team to foster clear communication, creative problem-solving, and exceptional project execution. Support project management, including budgeting, procurement, receiving, scheduling, and order tracking. Oversee furniture installations and final styling, thoughtfully layering accessories, artwork, and textiles that reflect a deeply personal, curated home Participate in continuing education, industry markets, and professional development opportunities to remain current with design trends, products, and technology.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Interior Design from an accredited program ( preferred, but not required ). Minimum of 5+ years work experience in residential interiors ( required ). Advanced knowledge of furnishings Advanced proficiency in design softwares including AutoCAD (portfolio required) . Demonstrated experience producing comprehensive construction documents and detailed cabinetry and millwork drawings. Experience coordinating with contractors throughout construction and installation. Strong knowledge of residential furnishings, custom furniture, textiles, finishes, lighting, and decorative materials. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to both technical and financial accuracy. Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to contribute to a team-oriented studio environment.
SCHEDULE
Monday - Thursday (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM) with additional hours available based on project loads and installation schedules. Position is

at the Tera Janelle Design studio located in Lynchburg, Virginia.
