Full Job Description Senior Commercial Interior Designer Location:
Richmond, VA Salary:
$93,000-$107,000

On-site initially, transitioning to hybrid We are seeking an experienced Commercial Interior Designer to lead interior projects across a variety of professional and institutional environments. This is a senior-level opportunity for someone who can manage the design process, work directly with clients, and provide guidance to junior designers.
Please note:
Commercial interior design experience is required. Residential-only experience will not meet the requirements for this position.
What You'll Do:
Lead commercial interior projects from early planning through construction. Manage programming, space planning, and existing-condition assessments. Develop and oversee construction documentation. Guide furniture, material, and finish selections. Prepare and deliver client design presentations. Coordinate project activities during construction. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Mentor and support junior design professionals. Contribute to repeat business and future project opportunities.
Main Qualifications:
Professional experience in commercial interior design is required. Strong background in space planning and programming. Experience producing and managing construction documents. Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, and specifications. Experience supporting projects through construction administration. Ability to independently lead projects and coordinate multiple priorities. Strong client-facing and presentation skills. Experience mentoring or guiding junior designers. Interest and ability to progress into greater leadership responsibility. Must be able to work full-time from the Richmond office for the first six months. After the initial period, schedule transitions to 3 days in office / 2 days remote. No visa sponsorship available.
