Online Sign Language Interpreter - AK VocoVision - 4.0 Anchorage, AK Job Details Contract 14 hours ago Qualifications School experience Educational interpretation Certified Sign Language Interpreter American Sign Language Classroom experience Interpretation experience within education industry Full Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter with experience in telehealth to support educational settings in Anchorage, AK. This contract position requires effective communication and interpretation for students and staff who use American Sign Language (ASL) within schools.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide accurate and clear interpretation services for classroom instruction, staff meetings, and telehealth sessions Facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and educators, ensuring accessibility to the curriculum Collaborate with educational teams to support student learning and participation during virtual and in-person activities Maintain confidentiality and professional standards in all interactions Utilize telehealth platforms efficiently to deliver remote interpretation services when needed
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in educational environments Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and understanding of deaf culture Familiarity with telehealth technology and remote interpreting best practices Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to adapt to varied settings and work independently
