Job Description
TS Tech Alabama has a unique opportunity for a Japanese-speaking Interpreter to support expatriates including Plant President with day to day communication between site leadership and employees and visitors. The selected candidate will work closely with Japanese expatriates. Although no manufacturing experience is required, the selected candidate will be exposed to production processes, control systems, as well as many functional areas of the plant.
Qualifications/Essential Skills and Experience:
Able to speak, read, and write fluently in Japanese and English Translate Japanese and English online and written materials accurately to maintain tone, style, and original meaning Highly motivated Above-average interpersonal skills including email exchange Proven oral and written communication skills Recognized leadership experience Possess interest in an industrial environment Will be expected to be on site daily, this is not a remote role Previous technical training or teaching experience preferred Duties and Responsibilities Assist expatriates in navigating the plant site Support meetings and hands-on training activities as an interpreter- expatriates will have at least basic English (simple sentences) capability and some technical/operations background Translate technical documents and training materials from English to simplified Japanese on an as needed basis Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Participate as needed in social and community activities with expatriates Work with HR Staff to coordinate travel arrangements for Japanese guests and their families Work with the HR Group to provide meeting assistance; may include travel, lunches, etc.

- Required to stand, walk and sit as well as use hands to finger, handle or feel. May occasionally reach with hands and arms. May be required to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted. There are areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety shoes and safety glasses (provided by TS Tech Alabama) Visual Acuity
