Translate medical terminology accurately, ensuring clarity in patient-provider interactions and documentation review. Uphold professional ethics, including maintaining clinical confidentiality policies and adhering to HIPAA compliance standards at all times. Assist with translating medical records, social work documentation, and other healthcare-related materials to support comprehensive patient care. Facilitate cross-cultural communication by applying clinical cultural competency standards and ensuring understanding of cultural nuances relevant to patient care. Support child protective services, hospital staff, and social workers by providing precise interpretation during sensitive situations involving vulnerable populations. Maintain detailed documentation of interpreted sessions, ensuring accuracy in medical records and compliance with clinical ethical guidelines. Skills Multilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, with strong translation skills across both languages. Extensive experience in medical interpretation, including over-the-phone interpretation (OPI) and video remote interpretation (VRI). Knowledge of medical terminology, translating complex medical language into accessible language for patients. Familiarity with clinical confidentiality policies, HIPAA regulations, and ethical standards governing healthcare interpretation. Excellent communication skills combined with cross-cultural competency to navigate diverse patient backgrounds effectively. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail during high-stakes interactions. Experience working within hospital environments or social service agencies such as child protective services or social work settings is highly desirable.
