Job Description
Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This opportunity is seeking skilled Sign Language Interpreters to provide essential communication support within educational settings. Two positions are available, offering varied schedules and locations to fit different preferences and needs. Position 1: Work with high school students delivering sign language interpretation services.
Full-time schedule:
35 hours per week.Work hours:
8:00 AM to 3:45 PM.Location:
Loomis, CA. Position 2: Provide interpretation services to elementary school students.Part-time schedule:
30 hours per week.Work hours:
8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.Initial location:
Oroville, CA.Transitioning location:
Roseville, CA for the next school year.Qualifications:
Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with experience interpreting in educational settings. Ability to effectively facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff. Experience working with diverse student populations, including those with hearing impairments. Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism in a school environment. Reliable and able to maintain scheduled hours consistently.Responsibilities:
Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa to support student learning. Assist in classroom activities by providing clear and accurate interpretation. Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure access to curriculum. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and standards. Participate in relevant training and meetings as required.Benefits:
