Job Description

The CASA Coordinator assists CASA staff and volunteers in day-to-day operations and with special projects as well as provides one-on-one advocacy for CASA youth. This is a mandated reporting position. Assist with recruitment and retention of CASA volunteers. Provide technical assistance, support, and information to volunteers. Maintain confidential personnel files for each CASA volunteer. Organize and maintain case records in accordance with applicable laws. Maintain program databases including entering case and volunteer information and preparing reports. Assist with the organization of, and participate in, events and activities which increase awareness and community investment in the program and recruitment Complete 30-hour CASA volunteer training and maintain certification compliant with National CASA standards. This training is provided by Wild Iris. Oversee reporting about and make mandated reports of child, dependent adult, and elderly abuse or neglect per California Penal Code Section 11165.7 when necessary. Advocate for youth in community settings such as court, school, social services, and medical appointments. Meet with assigned CASA youth at least monthly to support and assess needs. Write court reports based on the best interest of the youth and attend scheduled court hearings. Adhere to the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the agency including representing the agency in a professional manner and maintaining the highest standard of confidentiality. Required High School diploma or equivalency. At least one year of experience performing similar or transferable duties. A high degree of integrity in dealing with confidential information. Ability to work with diverse populations. The ability to work well under pressure and deal appropriately with crisis and stress situations. Highly computer literate. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Willing to learn industry specific client-based software. Clear, professional, accurate information in both oral and written communications. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Excellent organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize. Able to work some evenings and weekends. Valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation. Must be willing to undergo a live scan background check.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in child development or related field. Experience with child welfare system and knowledge of related laws, or experience with court systems. Experience managing volunteers and/or doing professional training.
HIGHLY PREFERRED
: Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.
Pay:
$26.25 - $32.55 per hour
