Job Description
Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Meng Law Group PC is a boutique immigration law firm in the city of Covina, California. Our law firm provides quality legal services to our corporate and individual clients. Our practice focuses primarily on business and employment-based immigration cases, including
EB1A, EB1B, EB2
NIW, PERM, EB5, H1B, L1, O1, TN, and more. Our staff have diverse backgrounds and speak many languages, including Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Indonesian, and Tagalog. Thus, we have a unique understanding of the immigrant experience and a genuine passion to help individuals obtain an immigration status in the United States. As our company continues to grow rapidly, our company seeks the professional services of a Case Translation Manager (Spanish) who will help manage the legal translation processes for our immigration cases to ensure that all required documents are translated completely and accurately from Spanish to English. As most of our associate attorneys do not read Spanish, the Case Translation Manager (Spanish) is critical in ensuring that required legal documents do not lose their legal meaning and intent when they are translated. The Case Translation Manager will also review any translations performed by third parties to ensure that these translations meet our standards for high-quality legal translations. The Case Translation Manager (Spanish) will be responsible for the following duties:
- Oversee case translation projects (internally and with contracted translators) of client's case documents and communications by conducting thorough reviews of translated documents to verify accuracy and completeness. Assist in interviews, in-takes, and meetings as an interpreter to help the firm's attorneys and staff with meeting and communicating with Spanish-speaking clients.
- Review translations by contracted translators and recommend necessary edits to ensure that the translated English text accurately conveys the text and legal information from the source language and vice versa.
- Collaborate closely with attorneys to ensure all legal documents translated from Spanish to English comply with specific legal standards and regulations.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis as needed to clarify complex legal terms and concepts to ensure accurate translation and interpretation.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of translation projects to facilitate efficient communication and future reference.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in immigration laws and regulations, as well as translation technologies and methodologies, to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of our firm's translation processes.
- Coordinate document collection process with clients including preparing document checklists, analyzing documents, and preparing document packages.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients to address their inquiries, provide updates on translation progress, and ensure client satisfaction with the quality and accuracy of our services and translation projects.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in English, legal studies, or related field.
2 years' work experience independently managing case tasks at an immigration law firm including document translation and coordinating document collection and preparation.
Familiarity with terminology in U.S. immigration laws.
Full professional proficiency in English.
Native or bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
- Ability to manage projects independently.
