Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming academic year. This onsite assignment begins August 12, 2026, and continues through June 4, 2027, offering a consistent, full-time schedule of 35 hours per week. You'll provide focused, one-on-one sign language interpretation for a K-12 student at a single school site, with the specific assignment tailored to your preferences and experience.
Qualifications & Experience:
Current and active Sign Language Interpreter certification/license for California EIPA score of 4.0 or higher Previous experience working with school-aged children, ideally within K-12 environments Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, students, and staff
Responsibilities:
Deliver accurate and clear sign language interpretation for a K-12 student throughout the school day Facilitate communication between the student and their peers, teachers, and other school staff Adapt interpreting techniques according to the student's needs and learning environment Support both academic and social inclusion to foster a positive educational experience Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines and all relevant regulations Participate in student support meetings or team collaborations as needed This role gives you the chance to make a direct, meaningful difference in a student's school experience, working onsite within a supportive setting.
