POSITION SUMMARY
Focus Interpreting is looking for a Court Certified English - Spanish Interpreter to join our team in Oakland, CA. In this essential role, you will provide professional interpretation services in court settings, ensuring accurate and effective communication between English and Spanish-speaking individuals involved in legal proceedings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide interpretation services in courtroom settings, facilitating clear communication among judges, attorneys, and clients. Accurately interpret legal terminology, discussions, and documentation in real-time, ensuring all parties understand the proceedings. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and legal guidelines as required for court interpreters. Prepare for court appearances by reviewing relevant case materials and familiarizing yourself with specific legal terminology. Stay updated on best practices, legal standards, and cultural sensitivities related to court interpretation.
REQUIREMENTS
Fluency in both English and Spanish, with strong oral and written communication skills. A valid Court Certification for Spanish interpretation is required. In-depth knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures in both languages. Attention to detail and the capability to work effectively under pressure in a courtroom environment.
