You'll work closely with students, teachers, and staff to ensure seamless communication and a meaningful educational experience.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Proficiency in sign language interpreting (sign to voice and voice to sign). Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf, OR a score of 4.0 or above on the EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or

NAD/ACCI

assessment. Candidates with an EIPA score under 4.0 will be considered and designated as ASL Para. Experience working in school settings, preferably with middle or high school students. Ability to assist students academically and support their development in reading, writing, math, and vocational/life skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for collaboration with teachers and other school personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate communication and educational access between deaf/hard of hearing students and their hearing peers and educators. Interpret dialogues and instructions in classrooms and during school activities, indoor and outdoor. Support students during academic lessons and community-based activities, including monitoring and assistance as needed. Adapt to both classroom environments and vocational/living skills instruction. Flexibility to indicate preference for either middle or high school assignments.
