Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Proficiency in interpretation for students and staff within a school setting Strong background as a braillist, with the ability to transcribe educational materials accurately Familiarity with technology and adaptive equipment for visually impaired students Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Compassion, patience, and a student-centered approach Previous experience in an educational environment preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret classroom discussions, assemblies, and meetings to support clear communication Transcribe textbooks, worksheets, and other instructional resources into braille Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to tailor accessible materials Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times Encourage independence and active participation among students with visual impairments Adapt to diverse educational needs and changing classroom settings This contract position offers a unique chance to make a meaningful impact while working in a supportive school environment.
