Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding role supporting K-12 students as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school environment near Woodland, CA. This engaging, contract position is onsite, running from August 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a steady schedule of 35 hours each week. Assignments are designed with your expertise and preferences in mind and will primarily involve working one-on-one with a student at a single school site.
Qualifications:
Current and valid Sign Language Interpreter certification/license in California Minimum EIPA score of 4.0 Previous experience working in educational or school settings is highly preferred Adaptability to meet varying student needs across grades K-12 Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster relationships with students and school staff Professional, dependable, and committed to maintaining confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
Provide accurate, fluid American Sign Language interpretation services for K-12 students to support curriculum access and social engagement Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure the student's individual educational needs are met Facilitate clear and inclusive communication during classroom instruction, activities, and school interactions Monitor and document progress to help tailor interpreting approaches as the student's needs evolve Uphold ethical standards and professional protocols specific to sign language interpreting within a school setting This contract opportunity offers a fulfilling schedule and the chance to make a significant, visible impact in a student's educational journey.
