The Library, Arts, History and CSU Extension department has an opening for a bilingual (Spanish/English) 29-hour part-time benefited inventHQ Makerspace Associate. You will greet new patrons and give them a tour of the space, chat with them about projects they would like to make, help them safely use tools, and connect them to learning resources. Outside of drop-in Open Hours, you may help with machine maintenance, staffing programs and preparing materials for them, working with volunteers, editing and testing tutorials and performing other administrative duties. Education :

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

• required

Experience:

1 year experience required in public library work or other related customer facing experience

• required Demonstrated skill/knowledge with a variety of makerspace tools and machinery (such as laser cutters, 3D printers, electronic cutting machines, sublimation printers, and/or hobby electronics)
• required Experience working with children and experience teaching complex technology
• preferred Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience.

Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Bilingual skills in Spanish/English required for this assignment; Native Spanish-speaking preferred. New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: oral board, reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender registry.
