Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpretation techniques. Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID or EIPA preferred). Experience working within K-12 school settings or with children/adolescents. Strong understanding of deaf and hard-of-hearing culture and educational needs. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities:

Facilitate clear and effective communication between students, staff, and stakeholders using ASL. Interpret classroom instruction, activities, meetings, and events. Support students' educational access and social integration. Collaborate with educators and other professionals to support Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Maintain strict ethical and confidentiality standards. Adapt to changing classroom environments and student needs.
