Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a vibrant educational environment where your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter will make a meaningful difference for students across multiple school sites. This full-time, full-school-year, on-site contract role serves both special education and general education populations, ranging from mild to severe needs, providing essential communication support to ensure all learners thrive in the classroom.
Key qualifications and experience desired:
Valid Colorado Department of Education Authorization for Educational Sign Language Interpreters (CDE Authorization) EIPA score of 3.5 or higher—required for compliance and eligibility Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter within school settings strongly preferred Proficiency in interpreting for a diverse range of student abilities, from general education to special education environments Ability to adapt quickly between multiple locations as this is an itinerant position serving several schools Strong collaboration and communication skills to work alongside teachers, staff, students, and families Primary responsibilities include: Delivering high-quality sign language interpreting services in educational settings, both in general and special education classrooms Facilitating clear and accurate communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and support staff Traveling between multiple school campuses as scheduled to support a variety of student needs Upholding confidentiality and ethical standards in all interpreting assignments Participating in IEP meetings and collaborating with educators to support students' individual learning plans This role situates you within a supportive, student-centered school community, offering professional growth and the chance to make a daily impact.
