Job Description
Bring your passion for facilitating communication and supporting students by working as a Sign Language Interpreter in a welcoming school environment near Littleton, CO. This rewarding contract role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact in the life of an elementary-aged student by providing crucial one-on-one interpretation services. This is an on-site position requiring dedicated, in-person support throughout the entire school year from August 6, 2026, to May 27, 2027, for 37.5 hours each week.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Possession of a valid EIPA credential with a score of 4.0 or higher Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings is highly preferred Strong understanding of Deaf culture and sensitivity to student needs Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities Committed to punctual, consistent attendance and reliable transportationKey Responsibilities:
Deliver direct interpretation services for an elementary-aged student in the classroom and school setting Accurately convey spoken communication into American Sign Language and vice versa, fostering access to curriculum and social interaction Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers, school staff, and families to ensure the students participation and success Maintain a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes student engagement and self-advocacy Uphold ethical guidelines and comply with all school policies and interpreter protocols This contract assignment is ideal for interpreters eager to facilitate learning and inclusion for young learners.
