Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity as a contract Sign Language Interpreter supporting students in a vibrant educational setting near Littleton, CO. This full-time, full school year position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference by facilitating communication and accessibility for students across multiple school environments, from Mild to Severe needs in both Special Education and General Education settings.
What You'll Bring:
Valid CDE Authorization to work as an educational Sign Language Interpreter in Colorado Successful completion of the EIPA with a score of 3.5 or higher (required) Experience interpreting in K-12 school environments (preferred, but not required) Confidence working with students across the full range of needs, including both Special Education and General Education Flexibility and adaptability to work as an itinerant interpreter, traveling to multiple school sites as needed Professionalism, teamwork, and a passion for empowering students through communication access
Your Key Responsibilities:
Provide on-site American Sign Language interpretation for students and staff throughout multiple schools Support students in a variety of instructional settings, ensuring equal access to curriculum, activities, and school events Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and special education staff to best meet individual student needs Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with educational and ethical standards Adapt communication strategies to effectively support both group and one-on-one situations This position offers you the chance to play a vital role in the learning journey of students, with the personal fulfillment of fostering inclusion and communication access every day.
