ASL Interpreter | Westminster, Colorado Westminster, CO Job Details Full-time | Contract $27 - $40 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Interpretation American Sign Language Full Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Sign Language Interpreter opportunity is available to provide dedicated 1:1 interpreting services at an elementary school setting. This contract position spans the entire school year, offering a consistent and impactful role supporting students' communication needs.
Location:
Westminster, CO Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, accurate 1:1 sign language interpreting services to support students' access to educational content and social interactions. Collaborate with educators, specialists, and staff to ensure effective communication and inclusion in the classroom. Facilitate communication between Deaf or hard of hearing students and their peers and teachers. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting assignments. Adapt interpreting style and strategies according to the student's developmental level and classroom environment.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting experience. Experience working in an educational setting, preferably with elementary-age students. Strong understanding of educational terminology and child development. Ability to work one-on-one with students requiring individualized support. Excellent communication skills and professionalism.
