Duties Provide real-time interpretation for medical consultations, procedures, and patient interactions in Spanish and English, ensuring clarity and cultural sensitivity Translate medical documents, patient records, consent forms, and discharge instructions accurately and efficiently Assist healthcare staff with documentation review, ensuring compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality Support social work teams by interpreting during assessments, counseling sessions, and child protective services investigations Facilitate communication during hospital admissions, emergency situations, and follow-up appointments to promote understanding and informed decision-making Maintain detailed records of interpreted sessions, ensuring proper documentation for medical records and legal purposes Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve communication processes and enhance patient experience Skills Multilingual proficiency in Spanish and English with exceptional interpretation skills in medical settings Strong knowledge of medical terminology across various healthcare disciplines Experience with translation of medical documents and records Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality at all times Ability to interpret accurately in high-pressure situations such as hospital emergencies or child protective services cases Excellent communication skills with the capacity to convey complex information clearly and compassionately Knowledge of social work practices related to healthcare access, child protective services, and hospital procedures Experience working in hospital environments or with medical records is highly desirable Bilingual capabilities in additional languages or familiarity with American Sign Language are a plus Join our team as a Spanish Medical Interpreter to empower patients through effective communication!
