Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Certification or credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, NIC, or equivalent) Prior experience working with students in educational environments preferred Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and student families Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Professionalism and adaptability in classroom settings
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret class lectures, group discussions, assignments, and school activities for an 8th-grade student Work closely with school staff to implement accommodations outlined in the student's education plan Provide real-time communication support during academic and extracurricular activities Clarify course content and instructions, ensuring full participation and understanding Maintain confidentiality while respecting student privacy and advocacy Support classroom learning strategies adapted to the student's needs Working as a valued member of the educational team, you'll collaborate daily to empower a student's engagement and academic growth.
