Job Description

Responsibilities Produces, reviews, proofs, and delivers translations of hospital documents such as medical record forms, patient education materials, and marketing materials from English into the target language as assigned by the coordinator. Qualifications
REQUIRED
1. Demonstrated proficiency in English and the target language 2. Demonstrated superior knowledge of medical vocabulary in the source and target languages 3. Training and/or certification in foreign language translation 4. Two (2) years' experience translating, proofreading, and editing medical materials from English to the target language 5. Demonstrated understanding of and adherence to the American Translators Association (ATA) Code of Ethics and Professional Practice 6. Computer skills and knowledge of word-processing programs (i.e. Microsoft Word for Windows) 7. Experience working with computer-assisted translation (CAT) programs (i.e. SDL Trados) 8. Knowledge of glossaries and translation memories 9. Two (2) years' experience in a medical setting or a customer service, advocacy, or related field 10. Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills 11. High school diploma
PREFERRED
1. Previous experience as a translator in a hospital or clinical setting 2. Native speaker of target language 3. ATA certification or equivalent 4. Demonstrated proficiency in a third language 5. Higher education degree (Bachelor, Master, etc)
Work Hours:
8:00am-5:00pm
