Job Description

Step into a highly rewarding contract opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter working one-on-one with a 5th grade student in a general education classroom. Starting September 10th, 2026, and lasting through May 26th, 2027, you'll play an essential role in facilitating communication and supporting inclusive education. This position is full-time, 35 hours per week, from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. You'll be situated on-site each day, working to ensure equal access to learning and engagement for your assigned student. This is an excellent opportunity for interpreters passionate about supporting young learners in vibrant school environments.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active GaPSC Sign Language Interpreter Educator Certification required District-specific fingerprints completed or willingness to obtain them Prior experience as a sign language interpreter within a school setting is strongly preferred Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with educational environments Effective collaboration skills and a commitment to student-centered support
Key Responsibilities:
Provide real-time interpretation for a 5th grade student in all academic and classroom settings Adapt interpreting strategies to align with individual student needs and classroom dynamics Collaborate closely with teachers and staff to foster an inclusive, engaging learning experience Support the student's understanding and participation in both academic and social activities This contract role allows you to make a lasting impact in a diverse learning environment, encouraging student growth and advocacy.
