Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter. This opportunity is based just south of Atlanta, with openings at both elementary and high school levels. You'll play a vital role in making classroom experiences accessible and engaging for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter within school settings 3.5 EIPA score or higher required Eligibility for the GaPSC Educational Interpreter Certificate Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Ability to foster positive, collaborative relationships with students, educators, and staff Strong communication and adaptability skills Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Role Responsibilities:
Provide interpreting services for students and staff during classroom instruction and school activities Accurately facilitate communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and other school staff Support students' educational and social development by ensuring full access to information conveyed in spoken English Collaborate with educational teams to help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment Maintain confidentiality of all student information while upholding ethical and professional standards
