Sign Language Interpreter in Evans, GA

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. A full-time, on-site opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support students at a high school setting in Evans, GA. This role requires providing live interpretation services during instructional periods and facilitating communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their hearing peers. The position is contract-based through May 20, 2026, with the potential for extension into the following academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret spoken instruction and auditory information into sign language to support student comprehension. Occasionally reteach or re-deliver information to ensure understanding. Facilitate communication during social interactions among students. Collaborate with educators and staff to support the needs of assigned students. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism according to school policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

Active Georgia Licensure or Credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter. At least a 3.5 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score. Possession of an active Georgia Educator's Certification. Proven experience interpreting in a school setting, preferably with high school students. Full-time availability Monday through Friday for 37.5 hours per week. Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential.
