Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic educational setting and provide critical support as a Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming academic year. This full-time, onsite contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a student's daily learning experience from August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027. You will work one-on-one as a dedicated interpreter, fostering clear communication and supporting accessible education.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Georgia Department of Education (DOE) Sign Language Interpreter license (no HR waivers permitted) Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Prior experience interpreting in educational or school-based settings preferred Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, educators, and staff Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate direct communication between student and staff, both in classroom instruction and school-related activities Accurately interpret spoken and signed communication in real time Collaborate with educators and support staff to adapt strategies that enhance student engagement Monitor and adjust interpreting techniques as needed to suit changing classroom dynamics Maintain detailed, confidential records of interpreting assignments and student progress Working as a Sign Language Interpreter in this role allows you to directly help students thrive by ensuring their full participation in a vibrant school environment.
