Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Become an integral support for students by providing expert sign language interpretation services in a welcoming school community just south of Atlanta. This is a fantastic contract opportunity with openings for two skilled professionals, offering a full-time, 40-hour work week. Both elementary and high school settings are available, allowing you to bring communication access to learners at varying stages. Your expertise will empower students to thrive academically and personally.
Qualifications and Experience Desired:
Valid 3.5 EIPA or higher Eligibility for the GaPSC Educational Interpreter Certificate Experience interpreting in educational (elementary and/or high school) environments preferred Strong proficiency in American Sign Language Collaborative spirit and dedication to student success Adaptable interpersonal skills to support diverse classroom needs
Responsibilities:
Deliver clear, accurate interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language during classes, group activities, and school events Work closely with teachers, staff, and instructional teams to foster inclusive communication Adjust interpreting strategies based on individual student needs and learning environments Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with educational interpreting standards Encourage student independence and support both academic and social engagement Attend relevant school meetings or professional development sessions as needed This assignment is located just 20 minutes south of Atlanta, granting easy access to city amenities while working in a supportive educational setting.
