Job Description:

Siouxland Community Health Center has an open position for Part-time Tigrinya Interpreter. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday 9am to 2pm Successful candidate must have solid experience & advanced knowledge of: Fluency in verbal, reading and written bilingual communication skills - Tigrinya EMR experience a definite plus Advanced computer skills Knowledge of cultural barriers to medical care and ability to diminish barriers on the patients' and SCHC's behalf Successful candidate must be able to perform primary functions of position: Provide translation services and support the non-English speaking patients and their families throughout their clinical visit Works directly with medical staff to ensure accurate communication and understanding between patient and staff Assists patients in completing all necessary intake forms at initial visit, including but not limited to, demographic and medical history, and financial verification Assists social service worker and patient in completing the social service intake process These functions are not all inclusive Siouxland Community Health Center provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to any characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
