Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential communication support in a school setting located in Berwyn, IL. This role focuses on delivering both Extended School Year (ESY) and Regular School Year (NSY) services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ensuring they have full access to their education through expert interpretation and hearing itinerant support.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver Interpreter Services during the Regular School Year, providing 330 minutes per day of interpreting support. Provide Hearing Itinerant Services including 100 minutes per week of direct support and 180 minutes per month of consultative services. Conduct comprehensive Interpreter Services for ESY from June 15, 2026, through July 24, 2026, Monday to Friday, totaling 1,100 minutes per week. Offer Hearing Itinerant Services during ESY, including 100 minutes per week direct support and 75 minutes per month consultative services. Collaborate with educators and staff to accommodate the communication needs of students and facilitate effective classroom engagement.

Desired Qualifications:

Proficiency in Sign Language interpretation tailored to educational environments. Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and families. Familiarity with Extended School Year and Regular Year educational service structures.
