Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract A school district in Cary is now looking to hire a Sign Language Interpreter for a current opening for the 2026-2027 school year. The selected candidate will provide individualized interpreting support for a middle school student to ensure access to classroom instruction and communication. Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one sign language interpreting services for a 6th grade student. Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, staff, and peers. Support the student's access to classroom instruction, activities, and school-based communication. Collaborate with teachers and school staff to promote a successful learning environment. Maintain confidentiality and follow professional interpreting standards.
Experience:
Previous experience providing interpreting services in a school-based setting is preferred. Experience working with middle school students is a plus.
Education:
Appropriate Sign Language Interpreter certification/licensure required.

Pay:
35+/hr
Work Hours:
Full-time school schedule Compensation for this position ranges from $28.39 to $48.39. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
