Desired Skills and Experience:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in school settings Previous teaching experience or certification in ASL is highly preferred Familiarity with supporting elementary-age students Ability to work onsite, collaborating with staff, students, and families Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
Provide interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom and school activities Support students' educational and social participation Work in collaboration with classroom teachers, special education teams, and other staff Travel within the school district to support students across multiple sites as an itinerant interpreter Ensure clear, accurate, and confidential communication
