Key Qualifications:
Valid certification or state licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter Experience in an educational setting, preferably K-12 Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Facilitate communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and educators using ASL Support classroom instruction by accurately interpreting spoken and signed information Collaborate with teaching staff and school professionals to ensure student success Assist in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as needed Adapt interpreting methods to meet individual student needs
