Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students in an educational setting as an in-person Sign Language Interpreter for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time opportunity is ideal for professionals who are passionate about bridging communication and empowering young learners in elementary classrooms. You'll be placed in a rewarding 1:1 role, making a visible difference every day.
Responsibilities include:
Providing direct interpretation services for an elementary student in a 1:1 setting Facilitating communication between the student, teachers, and peers to support full classroom participation Collaborating with educators and staff to adapt materials and clarify instructions Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to guidelines within the school environment Actively participating in team meetings and contributing to student success plans Desired skills and qualifications: Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or ability to meet state interpreter requirements Experience working with children in educational settings Strong interpersonal and communication skills Professionalism, reliability, and commitment to fostering an inclusive environment Previous 1:1 interpreting experience in schools is highly valued This role is exclusively in-person and full-time, allowing you to build deep connections and deliver consistent support.
