This full-time position will have you working school hours from 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, serving as a vital bridge for a 4th-grade student excited to embark on their ASL journey. You'll gain invaluable experience in educational settings and grow your resume with unique responsibilities, all while maintaining an engaging work-life balance that lets you explore local culture, nature, and dining in your free time.
Qualifications:
Licensed with the Kansas Commission on Deaf/Hard of Hearing (KCDHH) Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) Previous experience in school environments preferred Patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one sign language interpretation for a 4th-grade student new to ASL Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and related service providers Support the student's learning, social integration, and participation in school activities Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in interpreting Potential to extend assignment for Extended School Year (ESY) services
