Job Description
Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as an ASL Signing Paraprofessional with a full-time, contract position available for immediate start through the end of the school year and into the summer. You'll have the chance to make an incredible impact each day working closely with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, helping ensure that instruction and communication are accessible to all. As an integral part of the educational team, your ASL expertise will foster inclusion, boost student confidence, and empower learners to thrive within the school community. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about working in an educational environment and utilizing their ASL skills to make a difference.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is essential Previous experience in a school setting or as a Sign Language Interpreter highly desired Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and staff Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics Strong communication and problem-solving skills Enthusiasm for working with children in diverse learning environmentsKey Responsibilities:
Interpret and facilitate communication between students, staff, and peers using ASL Support students' access to curriculum and classroom activities Assist with instructional tasks and classroom management Adapt to individual student needs and promote engagement Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to implement learning strategies Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive educational environment Benefits include a W-2 contract arrangement, competitive compensation, 401k plan, and access to comprehensive insurance and benefits.
