Key Responsibilities Deliver accurate, fluent, and culturally competent interpretation between spoken English and ASL during classroom instruction, discussions, meetings, and extracurricular activities. Facilitate communication among students, teachers, administrators, and school personnel to ensure full access to educational content and social interaction. Interpret instructional materials and assessments into ASL, supporting students' comprehension and engagement with curriculum content. Collaborate with educators to understand lesson objectives, academic terminology, and instructional strategies to ensure message equivalency across languages and cultural contexts. Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional ethics , including adherence to interpreting standards and educational policies. Demonstrate cultural and linguistic competency , adapting interpretation style to meet diverse student needs and communication preferences. Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in ASL interpreting, linguistics, Deaf culture, and educational methodologies.
