Key Qualifications:
Professional proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in a school setting Ability to provide clear, age-appropriate interpretation for young learners Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive and encouraging learning atmosphere Flexibility and a positive, patient approach
Role Responsibilities:
Serve as a dedicated 1:1 interpreter for a kindergarten student during the 2026-2027 school year Facilitate real-time communication between the student, peers, and staff Collaborate with an ASL-fluent classroom teacher to maximize the student's learning success Adapt interpreting techniques to match the student's evolving skills Support the development of literacy, social interaction, and classroom participation through effective interpretation Engage with education staff to ensure a seamless educational experience for the student This position allows you to play an instrumental role in a young child's educational journey, while working alongside a teacher who values and understands sign language communication.
