1:1 ASL Interpreter

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract A full-time Educational American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter position is available for the 2026-2027 school year, serving an elementary student on a 1:1 basis. This contract role entails supporting the student's communication needs in an academic setting, ensuring effective language access and participation in classroom activities.

Location:

Pasadena, MD Schedule and Duration:

37.5 hours per week August 24, 2026 - May 2027 (school year)

Responsibilities:

Provide ASL interpretation services tailored to the specific needs of a 1:1 elementary student Facilitate communication between the student and classroom teachers, peers, and other school personnel Assist with classroom instruction to support the student's understanding and participation Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Qualifications:

EIPA score of 4.0 or above

OR RID/NIC

certification Candidates pursuing certification are encouraged to apply Experience interpreting in educational environments preferred Strong knowledge of ASL and Deaf culture in an academic context
