Job Description
Court Interpreter (Freelance/Contract) - Multiple Languages Needed Job Overview We are currently seeking qualified Court Interpreters to provide interpretation services within the court system. Experienced interpreters are strongly preferred; however, training is available for qualified candidates who are new to court interpretation. Compensation is based on certification level, with higher-certified interpreters receiving higher rates of pay. We are actively recruiting interpreters for the following languages: Lingala Arabic Portuguese Spanish French Swahili This is an excellent opportunity for bilingual and multilingual professionals who are passionate about facilitating communication and ensuring equal access to legal proceedings for individuals with limited English proficiency. Responsibilities Provide accurate and impartial interpretation services during court hearings, legal proceedings, attorney-client meetings, and related appointments. Interpret spoken communication in real time while maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics. Translate legal and court-related documents as needed. Ensure clear and accurate communication between all parties involved. Adhere to court interpreter standards, policies, and codes of conduct. Maintain professionalism, neutrality, and cultural sensitivity in all assignments. Complete required documentation and reports related to interpretation assignments. Qualifications Must be twenty (20) years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent required. Fluency in English and at least one of the listed target languages. Previous court, legal, medical, or community interpreting experience preferred. Court Interpreter Certification is highly desirable. Strong verbal communication and active listening skills. Ability to remain impartial and maintain confidentiality. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Reliable transportation and ability to attend in-person assignments when required. Compensation Competitive pay based on certification level, experience, and language demand. Training opportunities available for qualified candidates without prior court interpreting experience.
