Based near Crosby, MN, this position offers opportunities for both full-time or part-time work throughout the full school year. Make a meaningful impact by ensuring student access to learning through direct ASL interpretation and collaboration with educational teams.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with demonstrated fluency Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in school settings or similar environments Ability to interpret classroom lessons, activities, and discussions for students who are deaf or hard of hearing Familiarity with educational terminology and environments Certification (or eligibility) as an educational interpreter, EIPA, NIC, or equivalent preferred Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team Dependable, adaptable, and committed to confidentiality and ethical interpreting standards
Responsibilities:
Provide real-time ASL interpretation for students in classroom and school-wide settings Facilitate clear communication between students, staff, and peers Adapt interpreting style to accommodate diverse communication needs and age levels Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure effective inclusion and participation for deaf and hard of hearing students Assist in preparation and adaptation of classroom materials when needed Maintain professional records and documentation as required by school policies Enjoy the flexibility to shape your schedule—this position can be tailored to either full-time or part-time availability.
