0.0 FTE (Casual, per-case basis; minimum commitment of 8 hours per week) 8-hour day/evening shifts Southern service area coverage (Faribault, Owatonna, Northfield, and New Ulm); Specialist ASL Tactical Interpreter Millage reimbursed Weekend rotation: Every 4 week Must be willing to travel to assigned sites when coverage is neededJob Description:
Provides American Sign Language interpreter services in a variety of settings to facilitate communication between Deaf and Hard of Hearing patients and companions with providers and other staff. Principle Responsibilities Provides accurate, objective and first-person interpretation services between healthcare professionals, patients and their families. Facilitates appointments and referrals in person or by phone. Will require driving/traveling based on patient(s) need. Provides sight translation of forms and other documents. Manages daily workflows through utilization of available resources and communication with scheduling office. Understands and utilizes video remote interpreting. Documents interpreting services in the electronic medical record Identifies and communicate quality concerns. Participates in quality improvement activities to evaluate and improve service. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Associate's or Vocational degree in business or health care related field or equivalent 0 to 2 years of interpreting experience preferably in health care Licenses/Certifications Valid Driver's License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver's license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment One of the following is required upon hire: ◦ Certificate of Interpretation from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf ◦ Certificate of Transliteration from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf ◦ Comprehensive Skills Certificate from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf ◦ Certificate from National Association for the Deaf Level 4 or 5 ◦National Interpreter Certification Advanced or Master Physical Demands Light Work:
Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequentlyPay Range Pay Range:
$44.64 to $61.76 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
