Key Qualifications & Experience:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience interpreting within educational or classroom settings is strongly preferred National or state interpreter certification (such as EIPA or RID) is a plus Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt interpretation style to meet diverse student needs Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism Reliable, flexible, and organized
Role Responsibilities:
Provide clear, accurate sign language interpretation for students in academic and school activities Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers in a variety of instructional formats Adapt to different educational levels and classroom environments Support teachers and staff by clarifying spoken information to ensure full accessibility Advocate for student needs and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment Maintain ethical standards as outlined by relevant interpreter associations
