Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is available for a qualified Sign Language Interpreter to support a middle school environment in Joplin, MO. This contract position requires five days a week availability, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:50 PM, beginning ASAP through the end of the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide effective American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services for classroom instruction and school activities Facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and teachers, staff, and peers Support students' access to the curriculum by interpreting lessons clearly and accurately Collaborate with educational staff to ensure proper communication needs are met within the classroom setting
Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills Experience working within a school setting preferred, especially with middle school students Ability to work full school days, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students and staff
Location:
Joplin, MO Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:50
PM Duration:
