Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract ASL Paraprofessional (1:1 Elementary Support) Soliant is partnering with a student-focused school district to hire an ASL Paraprofessional for the upcoming school year. This rewarding opportunity involves providing dedicated 1:1 support to an elementary student who is deaf or hard of hearing, helping ensure full access to instruction, communication, and daily classroom activities. This is a school-based position offering 30 hours per week and is a great fit for individuals who are passionate about working with children and confident using American Sign Language in an educational setting. ASL certification is not required. Position Overview 30 hours per week Elementary school setting 1:1 student support role On-site position 2026-2027 school year Pay range: $19-$25/hour based on experience Key Responsibilities Provide direct 1:1 classroom and communication support using ASL Help facilitate communication between the student, teachers, classmates, and support staff Assist with instructional activities, assignments, and classroom participation Support IEP-related goals and accommodations under staff guidance Encourage positive social interaction and assist with routines and transitions throughout the day Maintain clear communication with the educational team regarding student progress and daily support needs Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment Qualifications Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience working with children or in a school setting preferred Experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing is a plus Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills Ability to complete all district hiring and background requirements Why Join Soliant?
