Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type All Job Types Make a meaningful impact in a school setting by providing essential communication access for an elementary student who is deaf or hard of hearing. This onsite, full-time opportunity near High Point, NC focuses on one-on-one interpreting, allowing you to use your expertise to foster academic success and social inclusion. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will work closely with both students and educators, helping bridge communication gaps and supporting a positive, engaging learning environment. This 40-hour-per-week position gives you the chance to build strong connections, personalize your approach, and make each day rewarding and dynamic.
Qualifications:
Valid Sign Language Interpreter credentials 3.0 EIPA Score or higher Experience interpreting in educational settings preferred Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Strong communication and interpersonal abilities Dedication to confidentiality and professionalism
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-on-one sign language interpretation for an elementary student throughout the school day Facilitate clear and accurate communication between the student, teachers, and peers Adjust interpreting techniques to meet the student's unique learning needs Collaborate with educational staff to support the student's full participation in classroom activities and school life Maintain ethical standards and adhere to all school policies regarding privacy and student information Imagine the difference you can make each day by ensuring a child has full access to education and school community.
