Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract A school-based Sign Language Interpreter position is available to support an elementary student in North Stanly Middle School, located in New London, NC. This contract role runs from August 4, 2026, through May 28, 2027, requiring full-time availability of 37.5 hours per week. The ideal candidate will bring specialized skills to facilitate communication access and support the student's educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide sign language interpretation services for an elementary student within the school setting Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure effective communication and classroom integration Utilize ECATS software proficiently to document and report student progress and needs Maintain compliance with all state educational and licensure requirements
Qualifications:
Active North Carolina NCDPI Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license (attach proof of active licensure with application) EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher Experience with ECATS system is mandatory Demonstrated experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably in North Carolina schools Familiarity with classroom environments supporting students with hearing impairments
